Colin co-founded Mapos in 2008 on the premise that great design can be sustainable, humane, and culturally relevant. Mapos gained immediate recognition for its client-specific design solutions and unwavering dedication to integrative design process. The firm’s portfolio of work is notable both for its focus on design and for its broad diversity of project types: retail concepts, restaurants, hotels, residences, spas, creative workspaces, branding, exhibition design, community spaces, and product design, among many others. Mapos has worked with private clients, community groups, start-ups, and well-known brands including the Craft Restaurant Group, Clinique, Caudalie, Fresh, Coca-Cola, Nike, Fila, Asics, The Related Companies, Viacom/MTV, iStar Financial, Samsung, LivePerson, and the New York Stock Exchange.

 

Having received a B.Arch from Carnegie Mellon University and an M.Arch from Yale University, Colin created the Mapos approach to make the basic notion of human empathy the backbone of the design process and has become a respected leader in the design and branding industries. In addition to leading the firm’s ever-growing and award-winning portfolio, Colin lectures widely on the subjects of design integration and human- and community-centered design and development.
