Shawn Basler leads the global architecture and design firm Perkins Eastman as Co-CEO and Executive Director. With more than 20 years of experience, Basler’s repertoire spans from hotels and resorts, office buildings, and residential developments to large scale and mixed-use projects located throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Responsible for fostering the firm’s national and global growth, Basler travels the world extensively. He collaborates closely with clients to lead projects from concept through completion. He stays intimately involved in all aspects of the design process from planning and programming through project delivery, providing continuous oversight to meet clients’ goals.
Basler began his career with Brennan Beer Gorman, working on luxury hotels around the world and learning how designers can choreograph the guest experience by delivering a level of quality and service to clients. Recent hospitality projects include The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, Anantara, Ras Al Khaimah, The Hoxton Williamsburg, and the expansion of Resorts World Casino NYC, to name a few. As place-makers and storytellers, he and his teams create personal, unique, authentic, and memorable experiences. Basler is a member of the AIA and ULI, and also a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of Kansas State University’s College of Architecture, Planning & Design.
