ArchitectSAGE Collaborative LLCStephen Parker practices with purpose, elevating mental wellbeing & dignity of the built environment. Parker is an architect and member of the Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture, is part of the Intentional Spaces Initiative lead by the Arts & Minds Lab at Johns Hopkins University, striving to promote greater rigor in design research for Neurospatial environments. His work on the ZenDen, a pop-up sensory experience, has won awards for educational spaces and led multiple sensory design workshops for Visa Lighting, NEWH, Kimball and other organizations. I’m also a founding member of the Design In Mental Health Network North America and a Board Associate of the Design in Health Network UK as well. I’ve been designing spaces with sensory-enabled architecture (SEA) principles and accompanying product design efforts, from the Arctic to Australasia. His research in sensory design has most recently been published with Texas A&M University and he has lectured at University of British Columbia and Harvard University, among many others.
